Gethealthykuwait.com report: 48% of female students in Kuwait overweight


In a health session held today, organizers of the better health initiative gethealthykuwait.com announced that they found 70% of women suffered from high cholesterol levels and 48% of female students under the age of 18 were overweight.






Gethealthykuwait.com revealed that women's results, especially those under the age of 18, are the main cause for concern. 

The report comes after gethealthykuwait.com's 12-month community outreach drive for better nutrition. The campaign was funded by Diet Care and Taiba Hospital and manned by expert dieticians and nutritionists from both, who on average dedicated one-day a week for giving free tests and consultations to the community and the opportunity to enroll in the campaign's 28-day weight-loss plan. By the end of the campaign, which concluded in July 2010, 4,898 people were one their way to getting healthier by receiving free and private tests and consultations. These people were reached out to through 40 weekly community outreach visits to schools, public centers, governmental sector and private businesses.
