When you Travel to Oman Through Al Ain.

for exiting to Oman from UAE
  • UAE Immigration charges are 35 AED per person on all borders .
  • 50 AED or 5 Oman Riyals at Oman Border per person. Update ( 1st of June 2012 ) ; Now in Oman border for  payments electronic card is a must. ie credit card or debit card. I traveled to Sohar through Wadi Al Jizzi border (After passing  Khatam Al Shikla Border(UAE- Al Ain)  ) on 1st of June 2012
  • you car requires Oman geographical coverage with insurance package or you can buy it on border post.
  • Normally there is no problem to cross Oman border even if your  have loan / financed to UAE Financial Companies or banks. It looks like now you need an NOC from bank to cross Oman Border(Update Jan 2016).
  • Should have Original passport with valid UAE residence visa.
  • But if you are expatriate and  in a visa sponsorship by husband / Father / Son (by first degree Relations), you should be accompanied by the sponsor.( I had experience of returning back from  UAE border while My aunt with her son's sponsorship was not allowed to cross border without sponsor)
  • If you are traveling as bachelor some times Oman immigration will check your designation.
  • Hatta you need to pay for exit ( Hatta border is not  for expats , noe limited for GCC Nationals) You need to travel to Khadhamat Maleiha Border in Kalba, if you are from Dubai and Northern Emirates.
